Description:
The Association of Theological Schools (ATS) is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Business Office Assistant to join its collaborative and mission-driven team. This is a part-time, contracted position designed to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of ATS’s business office. The role involves a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on-site, including mandatory Friday presence, and 3 days of remote clerical and financial data entry tasks. Total commitment is 20 hours per week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and clerical processes that are vital to ATS’s operations. This position is ideal for someone looking to work in a flexible, supportive, and meaningful nonprofit setting that values both administrative excellence and community engagement.
Perform routine data entry and record management tasks related to accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable.
Accurately process and verify billing statements, invoices, and related financial documents.
Alert supervisors or business operations staff about any inconsistencies or discrepancies in documents.
Provide general clerical support such as filing, typing, and completing forms as needed to assist the business office in its day-to-day operations.
Excellent data entry accuracy and efficiency.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word); experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred.
Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Office Management, preferred.
Formal bookkeeping training is desirable.
A minimum of two years of experience in accounting, clerical support, or office administration is preferred.
Part-time: 20 hours per week.
Flexible daytime schedule between 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
On-site presence required two days per week, including Fridays.
Contracted for 12 months with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding.
