Description:
EY is seeking a Manager for Business Transformation in Life Sciences R&D to join their Consulting practice. This role focuses on helping clients accelerate patient impact through strategic innovation, operational efficiency, and compliance across the R&D value chain. The manager will lead client engagements, build solutions, and drive innovation with clients such as large pharma, biotech, academic medical centers, health systems, cancer centers, and children’s hospitals. Key areas of focus include strategic planning, business transformation, organizational optimization, clinical trial acceleration, complex data analytics, research compliance, regulatory affairs, and technology implementation support.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and support client engagement teams, delivering professional services in life sciences R&D.
Provide leadership on projects across discovery, pre-clinical, clinical, translational, and post-market surveillance/real-world evidence.
Oversee multiple workstreams and ensure high-quality outputs on complex projects.
Communicate findings and insights clearly to clients, including senior executives.
Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
Continuously update knowledge of scientific, technological, and business trends in R&D.
Skills & Attributes for Success:

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, health, or a related field.
5–7 years of relevant experience in life sciences or health R&D, including management consulting.
Prior experience managing complex projects and teams of at least 3–5 individuals.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and consulting methodology experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other core business tools.
Executive presence and professionalism in client-facing settings.
Willingness to travel based on project requirements.
Preferred / Ideal Qualifications:
Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) in life sciences, business, public health, or related discipline.
Experience with R&D transformations, operating model design, or process optimization.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (GxP, ICH, FDA) and compliance in R&D.
Familiarity with clinical trial management systems (CTMS) and other R&D platforms.
