Camp Discovery Lead Educator

Description:

Essential Functions

• Learn developed curriculum for the seasonal camp he/she is responsible for teaching, including scientific

concepts behind the activities.

• Facilitate experiential curriculum.
• Prep, set-up, and clean-up any class materials each day before and after camp.
• Teach up to 24 students a week.
• Safely manage students in the museum and during walking field trips.
• Oversee and compile evaluation data.
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Specialists.

Education & Experience Required

• Three to Five years of experience teaching in summer camps, informal or formal classroom setting.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A Bachelor’s degree in science, education, or art.
• Knowledge of current trends in education including project-based and inquiry-based learning.
• Must be CPR certified.
