Description:

Benesch, a leading multi-disciplined planning, engineering, and professional services firm, is seeking a Roadway Designer (Civil Designer) to join its growing civil team. The company enhances infrastructure and communities across the United States, providing impactful and innovative solutions to transportation projects.

As a Roadway Designer, you will contribute to various transportation projects in collaboration with state and local transportation agencies. This role involves creating engineering models, performing analysis and design calculations, coordinating drafting elements, and supporting project documentation. The position welcomes recent graduates and encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data to perform modeling, design, and supporting calculations for project elements.

  • Draw detailed design plans and compute project-related quantities.

  • Organize calculations and maintain project standards in design files.

  • Coordinate drafting activities and perform site/field visits as required.

  • Develop foundational knowledge of codes, standards, and software tools including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.

  • E.I.T. certification preferred (or willingness to obtain P.E. license in the future).

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

  • Willingness to engage in both office and field inspection tasks with potential travel.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to meet tight deadlines.
