Description:
SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a Classroom Support Specialist. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Academic Technology Support, the Classroom Support Specialist is responsible for classroom and learning space technology equipment distribution, set-up, repair, preventative maintenance, assisting clients with the use of classroom technology and providing technical support to all learning environments.
Job Functions
Essential Functions:
- Troubleshoots and assists with classroom equipment issues.
- Trains users on proper use of equipment.
- Participates in the Service Desk Management Team.
- Coordinates and assists with the upgrade/installation of learning space technology and systems.
- Utilizes Crestron XiO/Toolbox to troubleshoot classroom technology control issues.
- Maintains, supports, and provides user training for campus event management system.
- Develops and maintains documentation, assistance guides and fact sheets and other appropriate handouts to aid customers' use of technology in the classroom.
- Communicates effectively with customers over the phone, in person and by e-mail/ticket system ensuring excellent attention to detail and follow through.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree by the time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university
- Work experience in a customer service environment, with proven experience resolving escalated customer situations
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 25 lbs
- Must have a valid NYS driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience in higher education environment
- Experience working with Crestron control system
- Experience working with event management systems
