Client Executive

 

Description:

Gartner is seeking a highly driven and accomplished Client Executive to join its Global Technology Sales (GTS) division. This role is designed for seasoned professionals with significant experience in consultative sales who can set and execute strategies for large, multi-national strategic accounts of substantial importance to the business.

The Client Executive will be accountable for directing account strategy, building strong executive-level client relationships, and driving new business opportunities. The position carries a quota aligned to specific accounts and requires mastery of Gartner’s sales methodology, as well as an in-depth understanding of client business strategies, goals, and buying processes. This role offers the opportunity to work with some of the most influential companies globally, positioning Gartner’s insights and solutions as mission-critical to their success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategy for assigned large, strategic accounts.

  • Direct and coordinate relationship-building and selling activities within client organizations.

  • Gain deep knowledge of client business strategies and initiatives to identify Gartner opportunities.

  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with C-level and senior executives.

  • Manage account outcomes to increase customer satisfaction, retention, and growth.

  • Consistently meet or exceed sales quotas aligned with assigned accounts.

  • Demonstrate mastery of Gartner’s internal sales methodology.

  • Conduct accurate forecasting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

  • Maintain competitive knowledge of market trends, client needs, and industry developments.

  • Exhibit fiscal responsibility in managing account expenses.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 10–15 years of external consultative sales experience with proven results.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage C-level and senior-level client relationships in large, multi-national organizations.

  • Strong executive presence, intellectual drive, and proven sales acumen.

  • Track record of building deep client relationships and providing strategic, value-driven insights.

  • Ability to understand enterprise-wide issues and structure integrated solutions that align with client needs.

  • Comprehensive understanding of technology buying centers.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.

  • Strong computer proficiency, written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of the entire sales process lifecycle, from prospecting to close.

  • Industry expertise in specific vertical markets is highly desirable.

  • Language skills may be required based on territory.
