Description:
Meadows Behavioral Healthcare, a national leader in behavioral health treatment with over 45 years of clinical expertise, is seeking a Clinical Director for its Houston, TX location. This role is designed for a compassionate and innovative professional who is dedicated to transforming lives through high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health care.
As the Clinical Director, you will oversee the operations of the clinical department, ensuring the delivery of best practice services while maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. This position is key to maintaining Meadows’ reputation for excellence in treatment for addiction, trauma, co-occurring disorders, and behavioral health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight: Provide guidance and direction to clinical teams, serving as a role model and leader. Act as Administrator on Call when required.
Program Compliance: Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation requirements (including Joint Commission standards).
Clinical Care Management: Review admission appropriateness, oversee psychosocial assessments, and ensure the delivery of high-quality individual, family, and group therapy. Maintain direct oversight of treatment planning and clinical documentation.
Program Development: Create, refine, and implement new and existing programs using staff, patient, and referral source feedback. Research and integrate evidence-based best practice models.
Budget & Strategic Planning: Assist in budget development and strategic planning, manage staffing and expenses, and participate in proposal writing and funding source identification.
Performance Improvement: Oversee data collection, analysis, and quality initiatives. Actively contribute to performance improvement and compliance with accreditation standards.
Supervision & Staff Development: Hire, orient, train, and supervise clinical staff. Ensure staff receive proper departmental orientation and training aligned with job responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Behavioral Health or related discipline required.
State Clinical Licensure (in good standing) or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. State Psychology License accepted in lieu of Clinical License.
ABBHE certification to provide Clinical Supervision (or ability to obtain within 90 days) preferred.
Minimum 4 years of direct clinical therapy experience (individual, group, and family therapy).
At least 2 years of supervision/administration experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
Strong understanding of diagnostic categories, assessment instruments, and program development tailored to patient needs.
Knowledge of state and accreditation requirements essential.
