Description:

  • Lead, manage, direct and coordinate the full range of mission responsibilities related to the resolution and closing of failing or failed financial institutions.
  • Organizes, plans, participates in, or facilitates meetings with FDIC officials, attorneys, accountants, contractors, representatives of financial institutions or other private sector business management, potential acquirers and/or other federal and state regulatory agency officials.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert to train and educate regional personnel in the areas of deposit claims, franchise marketing, asset sales, and other activities essential to the resolution and closing of a financial institution.
  • Monitors and analyzes financial and industry information regarding various geographic markets to maintain a current understanding of the feasibility of various marketing methods for failed financial institutions.
  • Analyzes information available from the FDIC, financial institutions and other sources to evaluate changes in the condition of the industry and develop appropriate FDIC response mechanisms to increases in systemic risk.
  • Manages and directs work associated with the analysis of financial information, corporate structure, asset mix, capitalization structure, physical and intangible assets and financial and managerial practices of financial institutions insured by the FDIC to prepare Information Packages and Asset Valuation Reviews, develop resolution strategies and ascertain the value and risks inherent to the insured institution.
  • Directs the work of a team of federal and contract staff in one of a variety of resolution functional areas.

    Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.     To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience serving as a subject matter expert on or leading a team in at least one of the following functional areas for financial institutions: marketing financial institutions, marketing assets of a financial institution, or managing assets of a financial institution. Experience must also include independently monitoring and analyzing financial and industry data, financial statements, industry conditions, and the characteristics and risks of financial instruments and asset portfolios held by financial institutions, and preparing recommendations for resolution/liquidation based on that analysis.
