Optimal ACCESS offers a unique educational model combining virtual schooling with in-person support for autistic students with complex neuromotor and communication challenges. Their neurodiversity-affirming virtual curriculum provides access to a fully accredited high school diploma while supporting students in the comfort and safety of their homes.
As a Communication Regulation Partner, you will support nonspeaking or minimally speaking students to regulate their sensory and neuromotor systems to engage effectively in academic instruction and social activities. You’ll act as a trusted ally, offering co-regulation and communication assistance, helping students thrive academically and socially. Training and ongoing mentorship will be provided.
Provide co-regulation and communication support during academic sessions.
Help the student access and respond to virtual lessons.
Assist student participation in peer online clubs and social groups.
Foster student autonomy, connection, and confidence respectfully.
Communicate regularly with the student’s instructional and therapeutic teams.
Participate in ongoing mentorship and training.
Minimum high school diploma (2 years of college preferred).
Compassion, curiosity, and a calm, regulated presence.
Dependability, professionalism, and kindness.
Ability to work in-person at the student’s home.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Clear background check.
Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Commitment to respectful and empowering support.
No prior experience needed; full training and mentorship provided.
Experience with RPM, S2C, Spellers Method, or similar communication methods.
Interest in education, psychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or speech/communication fields.
Experience with neurodivergent populations (professional or lived).
