Communications Associate

 

Description:

As a Walt Disney World Communications Associate, you will contribute to creative and strategic communication and content creation that reaches our approximately 75,000 Cast Members across Walt Disney World® Resort, as well as our Central Florida community, media, and guests! As a member of the Public Affairs organization, you will support day-to-day media inquiries, issues, crisis management, operational and Cast communication, #DisneyCastLife initiatives, and more across the resort. We are looking for results-oriented communicator who is passionate about redefining the way we tell these uniquely Disney stories through engaging written and visual communication.

What You Will Do

This Associate will contribute to the development of communication strategies that protect and enhance the reputation of Disney in Central Florida and beyond.

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing articles and producing content for external and internal communications vehicles, including the company intranet site, social media posts, and more
  • Developing and crafting clever and strategic visuals across a variety of mediums, including infographics, executive presentations, short-form videos, digital slides, and more
  • Helping to facilitate photo and video shoots in support of content creation efforts
  • Aiding in the facilitation of media shoots with reporters covering stories at Walt Disney World® Resort
  • Assisting in media monitoring and analysis to help provide strategic recommendations to Public Affairs executives about communications
  • Demonstrating passion and dedication to diversity and inclusion including inviting varied perspectives, encouraging an inclusive work environment, and supporting workforce diversity

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience working in a professional environment
  • Strong administrative, writing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, remain calm under pressure and prioritize
  • Proven ability to work well independently or in a group
  • Proficiency in basic computer functions necessary to operate in a MAC/MS Office environment and programs such as Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software applications

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with or knowledge of Disney operations
  • Well-versed in Associated Press Style, grammar and punctuation

Education

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field OR two years of professional experience OR a portfolio of related work
