Partners of the Americas is an international grassroots organization that connects individuals and organizations to serve and change lives through lasting partnerships in the Western Hemisphere. The Agriculture & Food Security (AFS) team manages a portfolio of USAID-funded programs that provide technical assistance to agricultural producers, organizations, and agribusinesses, and support nutrition and food security in Latin America and the Caribbean. The AFS team is seeking a Communications Consultant to support efforts to highlight the impact and successes of its Agricultural Volunteer Opportunity Project (AVOP). The AVOP Communications Consultant will work in close coordination with the AFS Senior Director and AVOP Associate Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Write success stories and articles highlighting the impact of AVOP sub-awardee projects;
  • Conduct virtual and/or in-person interviews and focus groups with sub-awardee program
    staff and key stakeholders to inform success stories, articles, and social media posts;
  • Create blogs and posts for F2F social media accounts – Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook;
  • Develop infographics and/or one-pagers summarizing impact of AVOP;
  • Provide logistical support to plan and attend outreach events to promote the F2F program.
  • Coordinate with Partners’ Communications Unit to ensure compliance and consistency with organizational standards for internal and external communications.

Key Deliverables:

  • Produce at least one story per sub-award project, minimum of 700 words each story;
  • Produce two social media posts per week;
  • Publish two articles and/or success stories on the F2F website per month;
  • Develop at least one infographic and/or a one-pager on AVOP;
  • Identify and support with 4 outreach events in the U.S. to promote the F2F program.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
  • Experience using social media platforms;
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • Understanding of general USG branding and marking requirements preferred;
  • Experience working with USG donors strongly preferred;
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cross-cultural exposure; and
  • Independent, proactive worker that meets deadlines.
