Description:
We are searching for a community manager intern to join our team. This role will see you contributing significantly to our flagship title, Fitment, and the Glossbird community on Discord. This position is a volunteer/internship role for the fall semester of 2023 (Mid-September 2023 to Mid-December 2023) and is unpaid. We prefer student candidates where this internship will count as credit. Depending on your credit requirements, this role will scale with the appropriate amount of hours and tasks. If no credit requirement, this role is between 2 to 5 hours a week.
This individual will possess strong communication, organization, and an aesthetic eye for detail. The ideal fit will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Blogging: Collaborate with the marketing team to generate captivating blog posts that cover game updates, industry trends, gaming and wellness tips, and more.
- Discord Updates: Regularly update and engage with our Discord community by sharing game-related news, patch notes, event announcements, and fostering discussions that encourage player interaction.
- Newsletter Creation: Assist in the creation of visually appealing newsletters that deliver valuable content to our subscriber base. Coordinate with different departments to gather updates, achievements, and behind-the-scenes insights for inclusion in the newsletters.
- Community Engagement: Monitor and engage with player comments, questions, and discussions on Discord and Twitch. Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere within the gaming community.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with game designers, developers, and artists to gather insights and information for content creation. Work in tandem with the marketing team to align content with overall branding and promotional strategies.
Recommended Qualifications:
- Fluent in English
- Current enrollment in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Game Development, or a related field.
- Strong writing skills with an ability to adapt tone and style to suit different platforms and audiences.
- Passion for and understanding of the gaming industry, including familiarity with popular games, trends, and gaming communities.
- Proficiency in Discord and Canva.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creativity and willingness to propose new ideas for content and engagement strategies.
