Compliance Testing Specialist

 

Description:

Robert Walters is seeking a Compliance Testing Specialist on behalf of a rapidly growing U.S.-based consumer finance company. This role plays a crucial function in the organization’s broader Compliance Management System (CMS), helping ensure regulatory and operational integrity through comprehensive compliance testing and remediation.

This hybrid role based in New York, NY offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership teams and compliance personnel to develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s compliance testing framework. The ideal candidate will apply strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills in a dynamic, fast-paced finance environment focused on home improvement financing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of the Compliance Testing program.

  • Participate in the periodic risk assessment related to the Compliance Testing framework.

  • Conduct compliance testing to assess the design and effectiveness of internal processes and controls.

  • Ensure the program adequately covers the company's compliance obligations.

  • Identify areas of improvement in the Compliance Management System (CMS) and assess related operational risks.

  • Provide compliance support for external and internal audits.

  • Maintain documentation, tracking logs, and reporting as part of the Compliance Testing Plan.

  • Support periodic evaluations to assess the program’s effectiveness.


Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience performing compliance audits or testing activities.

  • Strong familiarity with consumer lending regulations is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer).

  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to executives and boards.

  • Ability to analyze data and apply mathematical reasoning, including percentages, proportions, interest rates, and geometry concepts.

  • Skilled at interpreting instructions in various formats—written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled.
