Rimkus, a worldwide leader in engineering and technical consulting, is seeking a highly experienced and detail-driven Construction Forensics Expert to join its dynamic team in Idaho Falls, ID. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer or general contractor to leverage their expertise in construction defect analysis, litigation support, and forensic consulting.

At Rimkus, you will play a critical role in investigating construction concerns, delivering detailed evaluations, and supporting clients, insurers, and legal teams with clear, defensible expert testimony. You will be joining a global consulting firm known for its excellence in building envelope consulting, forensic engineering, dispute resolution, and construction management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations of construction concerns, defects, and failures in both active and completed projects.

  • Perform on-site inspections, evaluate construction quality, and review contracts, legal, and technical documents.

  • Prepare detailed technical reports outlining findings, opinions, and recommendations.

  • Provide expert witness testimony in litigation, arbitration, and insurance claims.

  • Collaborate with clients, attorneys, insurers, and stakeholders to develop effective solutions.

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of building codes, construction best practices, and industry regulations.

  • Manage multiple investigations simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

  • Support the growth and expansion of Rimkus’ construction forensics consulting services.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or General Contractor (GC) license required.

  • Strong background in construction forensics, defect consulting, and dispute resolution.

  • Demonstrated success in litigation support and expert witness testimony.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical findings in a clear, defensible manner.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple assignments.

  • Physical presence and work capability in Idaho required.

  • Commitment to professional integrity, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
