The Traveling Superintendent oversees construction operations from planning through project completion, ensuring high-quality workmanship, on-time delivery, and budget adherence. This role requires frequent travel to multiple project sites nationwide and involves supervising subcontractors, managing resources, and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight: Lead project teams on general contracting work, including foundations, concrete, structures, shoring, excavation, deep foundations, drainage, utilities, and other trades. Collaborate with Project Managers to review project scopes, ensure compliance with specifications, and maintain daily progress reporting.
Subcontractor Management: Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and craft workers, ensuring adherence to company procedures and project requirements.
Scheduling: Prepare and maintain project schedules, internal micro-schedules, and monitor progress to meet milestones and completion dates.
Safety: Develop project-specific safety plans and ensure compliance with Centennial’s HSEQ guidelines and OSHA/USACE regulations.
Communication: Maintain ongoing communication with project stakeholders, providing progress reports and recommendations for project modifications.
Travel Requirements: Travel extensively to support projects across the U.S., driving between sites and working in varying weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
4+ years of construction industry experience with a commercial or industrial general contractor.
Experience managing multiple trades and craft personnel.
Familiarity with heavy civil projects and/or complex infrastructure projects is highly desired.
Experience with Federal, State, or DOT contracts is a plus.
Ability to manage all resources, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
Strong knowledge of structural design, construction specifications, and blueprints.
Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is highly desired.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, ProCore, Adobe, and other construction systems.
Physical Requirements:
Walk uneven or temporary terrain.
Sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear regularly.
Frequently use hands and fingers to handle materials.
Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or reach.
Lift up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 25 lbs occasionally.
Visual abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $63600—$146103 annually, based on experience, training, certifications, and education.
