Consultant With Foreign Trade Zone

Description:

Kellton is currently seeking an SAP ABAP Consultant with specialized knowledge in Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) and Global Trade Zones for a strategic project. The contract duration is 6 months, with the initial location based in Greensboro, NC, but the client is open to expanding the role to Dallas, TX, or Hillsboro/Portland, OR as well.

Key Responsibilities:

• FTZ Expertise: The ideal candidate should have expert-level knowledge and experience working with Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) and Global Trade Zones, with a deep understanding of the benefits, processes, and regulatory requirements associated with FTZ operations.

• Guiding FTZ Set-Up: The consultant will play a key role in guiding client teams on how to establish FTZs in various plants. This involves consulting on the technical and operational aspects of FTZ setup, ensuring the plants meet the necessary compliance and operational standards.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: This role involves working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders. The consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, finance, legal, and SAP specialists, to ensure that the FTZs are set up efficiently and within regulatory frameworks.

• Support with Tariff Mitigation: With the introduction of tariffs, the client is looking to reduce the impact of tariffs on their imports, exports, and assembly operations. The consultant will provide strategic guidance on how to leverage FTZs to minimize tariff costs, ensuring that operations are streamlined and cost-effective.

• SAP ABAP Support: As an SAP ABAP consultant, you will be responsible for configuring and customizing the SAP ABAP system to support the client's FTZ operations. This includes writing custom code and integrating the system to handle FTZ-specific processes efficiently.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• SAP ABAP: Proficiency in SAP ABAP programming and customization is required to implement solutions within the SAP system, ensuring that FTZ-related processes are properly configured and automated.

• Expert in FTZs and Global Trade Zones: Extensive experience in setting up, managing, and optimizing Foreign Trade Zones and Global Trade Zones, especially in a manufacturing or logistics context.

• Tariff and Import/Export Knowledge: Understanding of tariff regulations and their impact on international trade and logistics. Knowledge of how FTZs can help mitigate the financial impact of tariffs.

• Collaboration and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, including legal teams, supply chain managers, and technical staff.

• Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to identify challenges in the implementation of FTZ strategies and propose creative and effective solutions to optimize client operations.
