EY is seeking an experienced Databricks Data Engineer – Manager to join its Technology Consulting – Data & Decision Science team. This role focuses on leading data engineering initiatives, building enterprise-grade cloud analytics solutions, and guiding clients through digital transformation using Databricks and modern cloud technologies.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise in data engineering with proven leadership skills, managing both teams and client engagements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design and development of scalable data solutions using Databricks across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Architect and oversee complex cloud-based analytics solutions aligned with business objectives.

  • Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, managing expectations and identifying growth opportunities.

  • Ensure quality, integrity, and security of data with best practices in governance.

  • Oversee development of end-to-end pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, and storage.

  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and business stakeholders.

  • Manage multiple engagements, resource planning, and engagement economics.

  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in data engineering, cloud analytics, and AI.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum 4–6 years in data engineering, with focus on cloud analytics and big data.

  • Proven expertise with Databricks and Spark.

  • Strong experience in data architecture, design, and enterprise data solutions.

  • Hands-on skills with Python, Scala, SQL.

  • Proven ability to manage and deliver projects successfully.

  • Strong client engagement, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with data governance and compliance standards.

  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and advanced analytics.

  • Experience with large-scale implementations, such as:

    • Enterprise data lakes for Fortune 500 firms.

    • Real-time analytics platforms (fraud detection, financial services).

    • Data warehouse modernization projects.

  • Advanced knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud-native services.

Leadership Skills Required:

  • Strategic Leadership: Align initiatives with organizational goals.

  • Project Management: Handle multiple complex projects and deliver on time.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks.

  • Change Management: Guide clients through data-driven transformations.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $125,500 – $230,200 annually (higher range in NY Metro, Washington State, CA).
