Lakeland Regional Health, a leading medical center in Central Florida and the only Level 2 Trauma Center for Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties, is seeking a Content Strategy Manager to oversee and manage internal and external content strategies in alignment with its marketing goals. With over 7,000 employees and an annual patient footprint exceeding 200,000 ER visits, the organization is known for excellence in healthcare and a deeply rooted culture of inclusion and compassion.
This full-time, on-site position plays a critical leadership role in managing communications content across all platforms, including social media, press, internal messaging, and media relations. The ideal candidate will lead content teams, write and edit executive messages, support public relations events, and drive high-level communication initiatives under the guidance of the AVP of Marketing and Communications.
Lead the development and distribution of marketing content across internal and external channels
Manage corporate messaging, press releases, and media relations with timely, strategic execution
Supervise the Communications Strategist and freelance content contributors
Oversee social media content, video production, and internal communication platforms
Provide after-hours support for media relations and emergency communication response
Write executive and board-level internal communication and CEO updates
Develop, coordinate, and participate in public events such as press conferences and service launches
Monitor media hits and maintain organized archives of public communications
Ensure brand tone, grammar, and style consistency across all content
Respond to patient inquiries through general communications channels
Collaborate in crisis communication planning and execution
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong editing and proofreading ability
Ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently and independently
Experience with Microsoft Word, Adobe Creative Suite, Asana, and internal tools like SharePoint
Professionalism in client-facing scenarios and media interaction
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Creative thinker and effective problem-solver with a team-oriented mindset
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
Experience: Minimum 4 years of direct experience in media relations, corporate communications, and PR strategy
Preferred Experience: Prior experience in a healthcare communications environment
Portfolio: Writing samples required to demonstrate creative and strategic communication capabilities
Certifications: As required by department/hospital policies
