Panda Restaurant Group, the largest family-owned American Chinese Restaurant brand in the U.S., is hiring Cooks to join its team in El Cajon, CA. As a Cook, you will play a central role in the kitchen operations, preparing high-quality dishes that meet Panda’s culinary standards, guiding the kitchen team, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and vibrant work environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare all dishes according to company recipes and quality standards.

  • Support and guide the kitchen team, assisting with their training and development.

  • Perform all Back of House responsibilities, including food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe kitchen environment.

  • Ensure compliance with local food safety regulations, including maintaining certification where required.

  • Contribute to creating a welcoming and vibrant guest dining experience through food and service excellence.


Qualifications

  • Education: Some high school education preferred.

  • Experience: Prior kitchen or operational experience is beneficial but not required.

  • Food Safety: Must comply with local/municipal food handler certification requirements (to be acquired at applicant’s expense).

  • Strong ability to adapt to fast-paced environments, communicate effectively, and handle dynamic priorities.

  • Physical ability to:

    • Lift up to 50 lbs.

    • Stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours).

    • Work in hot, noisy kitchen environments.

    • Safely use kitchen tools including Chinese cook knives and other equipment.
