Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate budget, logistics, staff, and vendor relationships and onsite

execution for select Museum events, including monthly First Friday evening
events, special events including opening receptions and receptions for
programs, and outside rentals of the Museum’s facilities.

  • Work with the Development team to establish event processes that

encompass all departments and aspects of execution.

  • Serve as a liaison with outside rentals, negotiating contracts and logistics, and

coordinating with the onsite staff.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Demonstrated success in organizing special events including excellent

event planning skills, a keen eye for aesthetics, and experience and ability to
conceive and coordinate events of varying scales.

  • Excellent organizational skills; with an emphasis on attention to detail, and the

ability to manage multiple projects while prioritizing and meeting deadlines.

  • Proven ability to work successfully in a team, with supervisors, senior staff,

members, and donors.

 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a proactive and collaborative style, and a sense

of humor.

  • This position is on-site, with some flexibility for a hybrid work schedule. Must

be on-site at least one Friday evening per month, coordinating First Fridays,
along with occasional events on other evenings or weekends as required.

  • Bachelor’s degree is required and relevant work experience in special events

and /or public programs.
