Cosmetic Beauty Advisor

 

Description:

The Cosmetic Beauty Advisor at Belk reports directly to the Sales Team Manager or Store Manager and is responsible for the consistent execution of Belk's brand direction within the store, especially in the beauty and cosmetics department.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales:

  • Achieve or exceed personal sales per hour (SPH) goals.

  • Act as a role model demonstrating excellent selling skills and top-tier customer service.

  • Effectively execute promotions, special events, pre-sells, and gift-with-purchase (GWP) offers.

  • Drive sales through proactive customer clienteling and relationship building.

  • Collaborate with store management to optimize business-to-business opportunities.

  • Meet assigned dollar line sales goals.

  • Identify and reduce shrinkage (loss of inventory).

Customer Service:

  • Consistently meet or exceed SPH and credit application goals.

  • Personally thank customers by name after purchases.

  • Process transactions efficiently and accurately.

  • Deliver a high level of customer service to boost Customer Satisfaction Surveys (CSS).

  • Build and maintain a loyal customer clientele base.

  • Secure and protect personal identifying customer information.

General Duties:

  • Maintain sales floor and stock areas in line with store standards, ensuring cleanliness and presentation.

  • Timely unpacking of merchandise, ensuring stock placement does not obstruct customer access.

  • Prepare and set up signage and displays for promotional events on time.

  • Follow store procedures for inventory control systems including AIR, markdowns, retickets, RTVs.

  • Maintain professional dress standards as per Belk and vendor requirements.

  • Work cooperatively with colleagues and management.

  • Adhere to store policies regarding attendance, punctuality, and employee handbook guidelines.

  • Take on additional duties during busy periods or as requested by management.

  • Assist with non-selling tasks as assigned by the Counter Manager or Sales Team Manager.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum: No formal education required.

  • Retail experience is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Excellent communication skills are essential.

  • Must be able to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends due to shift rotations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use computers, telephones, and related business equipment.

  • Ability to remove sensor tags (hand manipulation).

  • Capability to push or pull stock carts weighing 100-500 pounds.

  • Physical demands vary depending on merchandise; may include reaching above and below shoulder level and lifting boxes weighing 25-50 pounds.

  • Ability to apply makeup or treatments to customers.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports to: Sales Team Manager or Store Manager.

  • No supervisory responsibilities mentioned.
