Cosmetic Counter Manager

Description:

Belk is seeking a Cosmetic Counter Manager responsible for overseeing the cosmetic sales team, ensuring exceptional customer service, and achieving sales goals. This position involves team leadership, sales management, and customer service while coordinating promotions and maintaining a high level of store presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Development & Leadership

• Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly business performance to optimize strategies.

• Recruit, interview, and retain quality staff while maintaining minimal open positions.

• Coach associates to meet or exceed sales-per-hour (SPH) goals.

• Conduct team meetings before major events and product launches.

• Communicate inventory needs and ensure adequate stock levels.

2. Sales & Performance Management

• Meet or exceed personal sales goals and lead by example.

• Drive sales through customer engagement, promotions, and special events such as GWP (Gift with Purchase).

• Work closely with store management to optimize business-to-business sales.

• Ensure proper scheduling to guarantee coverage and productivity.

• Identify and minimize shrinkage in the department.

3. Customer Service & Clientele Building

• Provide a high level of customer service to enhance satisfaction.

• Exceed customer service expectations by engaging in clienteling and follow-ups.

• Ensure transactions are efficient and accurate.

• Encourage and assist customers with store credit applications.

• Build and maintain a customer clientele base.

4. General Store Operations & Compliance

• Maintain store presentation, hygiene, and visual merchandising standards.

• Ensure signage and promotional materials are properly displayed.

• Follow procedures for inventory control, markdowns, and RTV (Return to Vendor).

• Adhere to company dress code and professional appearance standards.

• Cooperate with management and follow store policies regarding attendance and scheduling.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.

• Knowledge of beauty products and ability to apply makeup/treatments to customers.

• Ability to work with POS systems, computers, and other retail-related equipment.

• Ability to lift 25-50 pounds and perform physical stocking duties.

• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in cosmetic or beauty retail is a plus.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
