Customer Service Associate

 

Description:

Guitar Center is seeking Customer Service Associates to play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to customers while helping to prevent theft and maintain a safe store environment. This position is the first and last point of contact for customers, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported throughout their shopping experience.


Key Responsibilities

✅ Warmly greet customers as they enter and offer assistance as needed.
Answer inquiries and direct customers to the correct departments or team members.
✅ Communicate with customers leaving empty-handed to gather feedback or offer further help.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
✅ Conduct receipt checks at store exits to prevent theft and ensure accuracy of purchases.
✅ Verify and record serial numbers for gear bags (guitar cases, snare cases, drum cases, etc.) when necessary.
✅ Perform bag and coat checks for employees exiting the store.
✅ Support the store team with operational tasks as assigned.
Monitor the sales floor to maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety.
✅ Report safety hazards, suspicious activity, or security concerns to management.


Required Skills & Qualifications

✔️ Passion for music and familiarity with musical instruments and equipment is a plus.
✔️ Previous customer service experience, ideally in a retail setting.
✔️ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
✔️ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
✔️ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
✔️ Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and willingness to work additional hours when needed.


Physical Requirements

💪 Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
💪 Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
💪 Comfortable with stooping, bending, and reaching frequently.


Compensation & Benefits

💰 Pay Rate: 16.75 - 29.60 USD per hour, depending on background and experience.
