Description:
F5 is seeking a Principal Enterprise Security Engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise-wide security solutions. The role involves shaping security strategy across endpoint protection, network, SaaS, IAM, and observability, ensuring alignment with NIST, CIS, FedRAMP, and DoD IL‑4/IL‑5 standards. This position reports to the VP of Infrastructure and Security and works closely with the CISO, CISO staff, and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect enterprise security solutions across endpoints, networks, SaaS, and identity/infrastructure
Ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-53, CIS Benchmarks, FedRAMP, and DoD IL‑4/IL‑5 standards
Implement and manage IAM frameworks: RBAC, MFA, SAML, OAuth, SCIM
Deploy and manage endpoint security tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne) and network security strategies (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, micro-segmentation)
Configure and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tooling & policies
Secure SaaS applications and maintain compliance evidence for FedRAMP/DoD audits
Lead incident response efforts and collaborate with threat intelligence teams
Manage vulnerability scanning, patching, and observability systems (SIEM, EDR, logging, telemetry)
Automate security workflows using Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.
Collaborate with leadership to align security initiatives with organizational strategy
Deliver security training and awareness across the enterprise
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
7+ years of enterprise/cloud security experience
Hands-on experience in IAM, endpoint/network/SaaS security, incident response, vulnerability management, and log analytics
Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53/171, CIS benchmarks, DoD IL‑4/IL‑5 controls
Proficiency with CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, F5, Splunk/ELK, IAM platforms (Okta, Entra ID)
Strong scripting/automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
