Job Description:
- Manage a team of Data Center Engineers
- Create an update documentation
- Monitor and troubleshoot power, cooling, and environmental systems
- Assist with data center builds, expansions, and refresh initiatives
- Support UPS, PDUs, RPPs, generators, and CRAC/CRAH systems
- Perform capacity planning for space, power, and cooling. Design electrical equipment, including sizing switchgear PDU’s, power panels, busways, cables, circuit breakers, diesel generators, UPS, and batteries.
- Electrical load distribution and balancing the loads to avoid oversubscribing and the failure of the equipment.
- Develop design documents including drawings, specifications, calculations, and equipment selections.
- Execute electrical engineering design tasks for new data center facilities, including build-to-suit, self-performed, and tenant fit-out projects.
- Develop electrical design solutions that enhance speed of deployment, scalability, and repeatability for hyperscale data center sites.
- Coordinate closely with third-party consultants, vendors, and internal project teams (IT, operations, mechanical, and project management) to ensure complete and cohesive designs.
- System Monitoring & Performance: Monitor systems for optimal performance, security, and capacity; perform regular preventive maintenance and quality assurance.
- Assist in power and cooling capacity planning, load assessments, and infrastructure layout development.
- Maintain accurate documentation, diagrams, and asset inventories
- Participate in maintenance windows, incident response, and on-call rotations
- Collaborate with Network, Server, Storage, Facilities, and vendor teams
- Follow change management, safety, and operational best practices
- Support day-to-day data center operations including rack, stack, and cabling activities
- Install, configure, maintain, and decommission servers, storage, and network equipment
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in data center compute operations, facilities, or infrastructure engineering, and/or a degree in an Engineering or Computer Science discipline
- 7+ years of experience in data center engineering.
- Understanding of cooling systems, including CRAC/CRAH units, CDUs, cooling towers, chillers, and containment environments. Familiarity with critical facility infrastructure (power, cooling).
- Datacenter cooling/HVAC systems, Strong knowledge of data center electrical systems, such as Substations, Emergency Generators, Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), Lithium-Ion Battery Plants, and Fire Alarm.
- Must have experience in operating, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Mission Critical Mechanical and/or Electrical Support Systems
- Monitor building monitoring systems (FMS & BMS)
- Assist and coordinate the management and execution of OPEX and CAPEX projects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-availability environment, often outside normal hours.
- 24/7 response to emergencies relating to employees and/or facilities
