Data Center Technician

 

Description:

CoreWeave, an industry-leading AI Hyperscaler, is seeking a Data Center Technician to join its dynamic team. This role focuses on maintaining high availability and reliability of data center operations to meet or exceed service level standards. The position involves diagnosing and repairing hardware and network components, performing root cause analysis, and providing technical support. The technician will also be responsible for developing documentation, training internal teams, maintaining inventory, and participating in an on-call rotation.

The ideal candidate should possess experience in troubleshooting computer hardware, working with Linux operating systems, and basic scripting (Python, Bash). Familiarity with Cisco IOS or Juniper JunOS is an advantage. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in elevated locations, and support a 24/7 operational environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and oversee data center operations to ensure uninterrupted service levels.

  • Conduct hardware and network diagnostics, repairs, and physical replacements.

  • Perform root cause analysis of hardware and software failures.

  • Provide training to internal teams and create technical documentation.

  • Develop scripts for server and networking hardware updates.

  • Assemble and install equipment; maintain test and tool equipment.

  • Manage inventory and ensure timely maintenance activities.

  • Travel occasionally to other data centers as required.


Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience or academic background in computer hardware troubleshooting, data center operations, or networking.

  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems.

  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and after-hours support.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in elevated locations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or similar).

  • Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS.

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in IT-related fields.
