Description:
Our data science intern will be a key member of Aptiv Connected Services’ Data Science team. The position supports the Product Development, Product Management, and Customer Success teams by using advanced analytics, modeling, and machine learning techniques to build and deploy models and other data products that generate business insights for our customers
Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular communication on project status with team lead, project management, and executive management.
- Work as part of centralized Data Science function, engaging and interacting with multiple functional areas within the organization.
- Process, manipulate, explore, and generate insights from large engineering and operational data sets across a range of platforms to uncover trends, generate insights, identify anomalies, and train models.
- Support the engineering and product teams to productionize and deploy scalable models and analytic solutions within the framework of Aptiv’s cloud and edge platform.
Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)
- Pursuing BA / BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or similar technical field
- Strong data cleaning, transformation, and manipulation skills
- Experience using Python and data science related libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, StatsModels, and TensorFlow
- Experience with predictive modeling and machine learning algorithms
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Experience with data visualization
- Strong communication, problem solving, and time management skills
- Passion and curiosity for extracting insights from data
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
- Interest in the automotive space, software, and new technologies
- Some experience working in cloud environment (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) is a plus
