Datacenter Technician

Description:

Raas Infotek is urgently hiring a Datacenter Technician for a contract-based, on-site position in Oneonta, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience handling network hardware refreshes, imaging, installation, and project coordination across multiple sites. This role requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented technician capable of working independently and supporting engineering teams in mission-critical infrastructure upgrades.

The technician will support a wide range of tasks associated with refreshing data center and remote network environments, including imaging new devices, removing outdated hardware, coordinating cutovers with clients, and ensuring project progress is efficiently communicated.

Key Responsibilities:

• Image and update network gear to approved configurations

• Install and unbox new network devices and mount them in data racks

• Patch network and power cables and assist with port planning

• Remove and sanitize old gear; update monitoring and inventory systems

• Coordinate with clients and internal engineering teams for network cutovers

• Track and report project progress, ticket statuses, and any delays to stakeholders

• Handle ticketing and appointment scheduling in ticketing platforms

• Provide logistical support for transport and physical movement of equipment

• Maintain flexibility to work nights, weekends, or after-hours as required

• Travel to nearby remote sites as needed (must have reliable transportation)

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in network gear management (imaging, patching, installation)

• Strong organizational and communication skills for progress tracking and reporting

• Understanding of ticketing systems and project coordination practices

• Availability for flexible scheduling including after-hours or weekend work

• Reliable means of transportation for site-to-site work
