Description:

Esri is seeking a Deal Development Specialist to join its dynamic sales support team, which collaborates across industries and government sectors to drive strategic sales positioning, procurement, and process improvement. This role involves working closely with sales, procurement, marketing, product management, and development teams to ensure agreements align with Esri’s business, financial, and risk objectives. The specialist will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and drafting various sales agreements, including OEM, reselling, procurement, and enterprise contracts. The position demands exceptional analytical and relationship-building skills, enabling the candidate to respond quickly to requests, provide high-quality customer-focused support, and maintain long-term partnerships.

The ideal candidate will proactively identify and mitigate contractual risks, maintain a high level of ethical standards, and provide leadership with valuable business insights. Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage confidential information are essential. The role also requires a deep understanding of software licensing models, sales processes, intellectual property considerations, and contract structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate complex sales agreements in alignment with Esri’s business and compliance requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure contractual consistency and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships to achieve sales and operational targets.

  • Identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

  • Provide leadership with strategic insights, patterns, and recommendations for process improvements.

  • Maintain high accuracy in managing confidential databases and contract documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, economics, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with complex purchasing agreements, proposals, and enterprise programs.

  • 2+ years in commercial software pricing models, strategies, and catalog management.

  • Strong understanding of Esri product models, licensing, and maintenance programs (preferred).

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office applications, particularly spreadsheets and reporting tools.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com and SAP (preferred).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy in work.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically or internationally.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).
