The Max Rady College of Medicine and Shared Health are seeking an individual to provide outstanding leadership for the position of Head of the Department of Clinical Health Psychology, University of Manitoba and Provincial Specialty Lead, Clinical Health Psychology, Shared Health commensurate with qualifications and experience for a five-year term commencing March 1, 2026, or as soon thereafter as possible. The opportunity presents the challenge of overseeing a department based on a solid foundation of the discipline and innovative models of teaching and research collaboration and clinical care across the province. The successful applicant will be, or expected to become, a GFT at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher and should hold a PhD or Psy.D. in clinical and/or health psychology. A stipend will be provided for the duration of the appointment.

The Candidate should have a substantial record and achievement in clinical psychology and/or health psychology and experience in teaching, research, administration, and leadership ability appropriate for the scope and challenge of this senior position. The Department is responsible for a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) accredited residency-training program in Clinical Psychology. As well, the Department is responsible for the delivery of undergraduate teaching within the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba.

Shared Health is a Provincial organization responsible for planning, quality, patient safety, standards and innovation while ensuing a sustainable cost effective health care system. The successful candidate will be the lead advisor within Shared Health on all aspects of Clinical Health Psychology care in the Province. Within Winnipeg, the Clinical Health Psychology Program provides services at two tertiary hospitals, three community-based hospitals and several community settings. In addition, the Department provides clinical and academic consultation and support to psychologists working within our Rural Psychology Program. Thus, the Department has academic and clinical responsibilities in many parts of the Province of Manitoba.

Candidates must be eligible for registration with the Psychological Association of Manitoba. The successful candidate is expected to promote interprofessional education, shared care, and initiatives designed to promote the health and mental health of Manitobans.
