Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, biology, or related life-sciences field or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience handling and caring for animal subjects preferred but not required.
• Excellent organization and record keeping skills.
• Coursework in neuroscience and math.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a part time position in the Gomez-Pastor lab studying protein aggregation and neuronal death in Huntington´s Disease.

Mouse colony maintenance (60%)

• Mouse toe clipping and genotyping
• Set up breeders
• Oocassionally change mouse cages

Ordering and receiving lab supplies (30%):

• Place orders with vendors, track items, and ensure that orders are received. Maintain records of ordered items.
• Ensure that lab supplies are organized and appropriately stocked.

General support (10%):

• Prepare common laboratory stock solutions (such as phosphate buffer, fixative, ethanol).
• Ensure that laboratory supplies are within expiration dates, and identify supplies soon to expire.
