Devops Engineer

Description:

Alta Equipment Group, the largest equipment dealer in North America, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to lead and optimize the company’s DevOps technology stack, CI/CD pipelines, and automation processes. This role offers an opportunity to architect and refine pipelines, enhance build reliability, and streamline development workflows, while collaborating closely with developers, QA teams, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins.

• Optimize and automate internal and external build processes to reduce errors and improve turnaround.

• Collaborate with developers and QA teams to integrate automated regression testing.

• Improve version control workflows and manage efficient branching strategies using GitHub.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and provide solutions for build and deployment issues.

• Maintain and manage Azure cloud environments, ensuring secure and optimized deployments.

• Implement containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) as needed.

• Provide guidance on DevOps best practices, automation, and cloud-based deployments.

• Explore and evaluate new tools and processes to enhance automation, security, and efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Strong experience with Azure (VMs, Networking, Storage, and DevOps services).

• Hands-on expertise with CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins.

• Proficiency in scripting & automation: Bash, PowerShell, Python.

• Experience with Microsoft Server administration, networking, DNS, and load balancing.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve build and deployment issues.

• Passion for automation, process improvement, and reducing manual effort.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Knowledge of monitoring & logging solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).

• Understanding of DevSecOps principles and security best practices.
