Description:
Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), a global biopharmaceutical leader, is actively hiring a Director, HRBP Strategy & Operations for its Research, Development, and Commercialization (RDC) People Organization in Madison, NJ. This hybrid role plays a central part in designing, governing, and implementing strategic human capital initiatives aligned with BMS’s mission to transform patients’ lives through science.
As the HR Strategy & Operations Lead, you will directly report to the SVP, HR RDC, and act as the Chief of Staff to the SVP while serving as a core member of the RDC People Leadership Team. You will be responsible for building and leading complex, multi-year strategic programs and workforce transformation initiatives across RDC. This includes overseeing budget and finance planning, driving operational model enhancements, and guiding enterprise-wide HR projects that impact thousands of employees globally.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted advisor and chief of staff to the SVP, HR RDC.
Shape and execute short-term and long-term RDC people strategies.
Lead enterprise-wide transformational HR initiatives and operating model optimization.
Manage RDC People Org budget planning and financial operations.
Collaborate across HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs), People Services, and external stakeholders to deliver enterprise-aligned HR solutions.
Represent RDC on cross-organizational initiatives like Future of Work and other global HR transformations.
Translate HR metrics and analytics into actionable strategies that improve performance, efficiency, and engagement.
Promote inclusion, organizational agility, and leadership development through strong change management practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree (MBA, MHRM) preferred.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in business strategy, HR, or operations.
Strong background in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotech industry.
Proven ability to manage large-scale projects in a matrixed, global organization.
Expertise in financial operations, workforce planning, and HR metrics/analytics.
Strategic change management and organizational design leadership.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive annual base salary ranging from $188000 to $228000.
