Description:

MemorialCare Health System is seeking a Director, Enterprise PMO to lead the strategic direction and daily operations of its Information Systems Project Management Office (PMO) based in Fountain Valley, CA. This high-impact role involves managing a diverse portfolio of IT projects that are essential to MemorialCare’s mission of delivering patient-centered, affordable, and high-quality healthcare. The Director will play a pivotal role in aligning IT initiatives with organizational priorities while standardizing processes and building high-performing teams.

The position requires deep expertise in portfolio governance, resource and financial management, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented leader with strong interpersonal skills, capable of influencing across clinical and operational domains to ensure smooth execution and measurable outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Portfolio Management: Lead the prioritization, governance, and execution of IT projects, ensuring alignment with MemorialCare’s strategic goals

  • PMO Oversight & Process Standardization: Implement standardized methodologies, frameworks, and tools for consistent project delivery

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide PMO staff including directors, project managers, and coordinators to enhance performance and accountability

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clinical, operational, and executive leadership to align project outcomes with business and patient care needs

  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify and mitigate risks to project delivery, ensuring continuity and quality

  • Financial & Resource Oversight: Manage budgets, allocate resources, and optimize vendor partnerships for operational efficiency

  • Performance Reporting: Define and monitor KPIs to evaluate the success of project delivery and PMO function

  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure that projects adhere to all applicable security, regulatory, and compliance requirements

  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Introduce new technologies and best practices to streamline project execution and delivery


Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership in managing PMOs or large IT portfolios, preferably in healthcare

  • Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, project and portfolio methodologies

  • Experience working cross-functionally and managing executive stakeholder expectations

  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills


Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred
