The State of Connecticut, Office of Health Strategy (OHS) is seeking a qualified individual to serve on our team as the Director Of Legislation, Regulations And Communications. We are looking for an experienced legislative and regulations professional with a proven track record in developing legislative and external relationships, interpreting law and leading the legislative passage of our policy priorities. This position will lead our strategy in developing policy positions, drafting, and providing testimony, and responding to the myriad of health care issues and topics that are considered every legislative session to ensure they align with the Governor’s vision and OHS policy priorities. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Overseeing the promulgation of regulations, articulating our initiatives proactively and effectively with the public and relevant stakeholders, interpreting state statutes and federal regulations and strategically promote our developed vision.
• Directing staff and operations of the legal and legislative teams and works in consultation with the Office of the Attorney General on complex legal matters.
• Assisting the OHS Executive Director in formulating and advancing legislation, policy initiatives, regulations, and legal decisions to advance agency goals.
• Providing legal guidance and assistance to other senior staff and program staff in the preparation of legislative concepts and summaries as well as newly enacted legislation.
• Serving as liaison with the legislative and policy teams from OTG, OPM, state agencies , and state legislators.
• Participating at a senior level in shaping the strategies and priorities of OHS to advance its goals.
