Director Of Marketing

Description:

The Director of Marketing is responsible for product portfolio planning and execution, and exceptional customer experience, to responsibly deliver increasing sales and profits. Using research, product evaluation and ideation, portfolio expansion, marketing, and customer experience improvements, annual sales will grow from a baseline of $5.2 Billion in FY24.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
* Positioning and enhancing the image of the organization as a leader in the lottery business.
* Directing the company’s business offerings to achieve growth and profit objectives.
* Leading a marketing team and fostering the energy and focus necessary for the organization to reach its growth goals for sales and profits.
*Creating a departmental culture that emphasizes and embraces Virginia Lottery’s core values of integrity, collaboration, empowerment, innovation, and customer focus.
* Developing and managing an annual budget of $45 million, to effectively deliver sound business outcomes.
* Managing significant business-critical relationships with core vendor partners to deliver products and services.
* Effectively collaborating within the agency, with other lottery experts, with the lottery vendor community, and others with the focus of achieving annual goals and positioning for continued success.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, information systems or computer science, or other related field.
* Six to eight years of progressively responsible and successful management or leadership experience within a business operation (preferably Marketing) to include personnel and financial management, negotiating agreements, and management of vendor relations.
* Current knowledge and experience with marketing, digital, and web development industry best practices and trends is essential.
* Knowledge of the principles, practices and theory of marketing, advertising, digital engagement, customer acquisition and retention, product development, internal and external communications, research, statistics, sales and distribution, and the policies and procedures governing their application.
* Experience successfully managing large complex contracts and third-party vendors.
* Proven track record of successfully managing strategic partnerships, helping the team to achieve and surpass business goals.
* Ability to influence, lead and coach strategic and operational teams and individuals in a collaborative and agile environment.
* Experience in Lottery and/or gaming industry in marketing or product management.
* Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and direct both short- and long-term comprehensive Lottery advertising and gaming programs.

A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Additional Considerations

* Master's degree in business, marketing, finance, information systems or computer science, or other related field.
* Experience as a member of an executive management team.
