Director Of Process Engineering

Global Search Network is actively recruiting a Director of Process Engineering for a leading food manufacturing company based in New Berlin, NY. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role for a highly experienced and hands-on engineering professional with a strong background in process engineering, particularly in the food or dairy manufacturing sector.

The ideal candidate will be a technical expert in process optimization and equipment design, with a solid track record of leading engineering teams while actively contributing to capital projects, process troubleshooting, and operational improvements. A deep understanding of hygienic design, cultured dairy, and aseptic processing is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Support:

• Lead the process engineering team in all aspects of plant operations, including process design, equipment specification, and systems integration.

• Provide hands-on support in production efficiency, cost optimization, yield improvement, quality assurance, and plant safety.

• Actively contribute to capital projects, including the installation of new equipment and upgrade of existing systems.

• Troubleshoot process issues and recommend sustainable technical solutions.

Team Development & Oversight:

• Supervise and mentor a team of process engineers, promoting professional growth and performance excellence.

• Cultivate a collaborative, technically rigorous, and result-driven team culture.

• Ensure the team delivers high-impact solutions aligned with company objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with project managers, operations, maintenance, and QA teams to develop and implement engineering strategies.

• Coordinate with equipment vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.

Risk Management & Compliance:

• Identify process-related risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.

• Ensure all engineering designs and operations comply with relevant regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Documentation & Communication:

• Maintain accurate technical documentation, specifications, and progress reports for all projects.

• Clearly communicate engineering findings, timelines, and project statuses to internal teams and external stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• 8–10+ years of progressive experience in process engineering, preferably within the food or dairy industry.

• 5+ years of successful leadership experience, managing and developing engineering teams.

• Strong knowledge of hygienic process design, cultured dairy processes, and aseptic systems.

• Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, CAD, and process simulation software.

• Strong problem-solving, project management, and interpersonal communication skills.
