Discovery Consultant

 

Description:

Danaher Corporation is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Diagnostics Solutions, Discovery Consultant (L) to join its Diagnostics platform. This remote role, based out of Austin, TX, offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of healthcare, diagnostics, and consulting. As a member of the Discovery team, the consultant will partner with healthcare clients to evaluate and transform their operations, focusing on cost-saving initiatives, workflow optimization, and strategic value stream improvements using Lean Six Sigma and Danaher Business System (DBS) tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Performance Partnership team to assess client lab networks and uncover operational inefficiencies.

  • Diagnose process constraints using DBS and Lean tools to eliminate waste and improve performance.

  • Collect current-state data to develop value-based proof points and case materials that highlight program success.

  • Design process re-engineering strategies and co-develop tactical execution roadmaps for sustained improvement.

  • Contribute to executive-level presentations and strategic SOW (Statement of Work) creation.

  • Transition customer relationships post-sale to Enterprise Delivery teams, ensuring continuity and alignment.

  • Mentor junior consultants and support internal training and competency-building efforts.

  • Advise sales leadership in identifying high-value clients aligned with performance guarantee models.

  • Consult across enterprise value streams, advising on KPI frameworks focused on cost reduction and operational transformation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Operations, Healthcare Management, Business, Industrial Engineering). MBA or consultancy background is a plus.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, continuous improvement, or consulting.

  • At least 5 years in laboratory management, ideally in anatomical pathology.

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or enrollment in the pathway.

  • Deep understanding of hospital finance and executive-level consulting methodologies.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and mentorship skills with an executive presence.

  • Willingness to travel up to 75%, with possible international assignments.

Preferred Additional Experience:

  • Development and delivery of corporate training modules.

  • Strong background in project management and adult learning.

  • High-level analytical and strategic planning skills across multidisciplinary teams.

Work Environment & Benefits:

This is a remote position with national travel requirements. Danaher offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including:

  • Base salary range of $165,000 – $185,000 per year.
