Astir IT Solutions, Inc., a reputable E-Verified IT consulting company, is seeking an experienced EDI Functional Consultant with specialized expertise in Retail Access. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions, specifically tailored to the retail industry’s choice business areas.

This role involves working closely with clients to manage and optimize their EDI processes, ensuring seamless communication between business partners through standardized transaction sets. The consultant will be responsible for the functional implementation, support, and enhancement of EDI transactions critical to retail operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Retail Choice business areas.

• Manage and process EDI transactions such as:

  • Enrollments, Drops, Change & Reinstatement Requests and Responses (EDI 814)

  • Usage Details (EDI 867)

  • Charges, Rates & Bill Details (EDI 810)

  • Payment Advice (EDI 820)

  • Invoice Acceptance, Rejection, and Error Handling (EDI 824)

  • Collection, Severance, and Reconnect Notices (EDI 248)

• Collaborate with technical teams and business users to analyze requirements and translate them into EDI solutions.

• Provide expert guidance on best practices for EDI processing in the retail sector.

• Troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related issues, ensuring high levels of accuracy and efficiency.

• Occasionally travel as needed to client sites to support implementation and training efforts.

Required Skills and Experience:

• A minimum of 10 years working as an EDI Functional Consultant or in a similar role with a focus on retail.

• Comprehensive understanding of retail EDI transaction sets and related business processes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in EDI environments.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced contract setting.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
