Description:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Serves as the School Social Work and Mental Health Professional specialist and subject matter expert for the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) and lead worker that is responsible for managing daily oversight and coordination of the grant activities, including internal and external monitoring of project activities, and provides advanced expertise or knowledge of social work policy development is required. Oversee the design, development and implementation of a statewide mental health strategy and curate evidence-based tools, resources, and training to support implementation of the strategy. Serves as the liaison between the grant partners – Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE), Louisiana State University School of Social Work (LSU SSW), and Louisiana school social workers. Advises the Division Director on specific issues related to student, staff, and school well-being (e.g., the social, emotional, behavioral, and mental needs) supported by school Mental Health Professionals. Supports school systems in their effort to expand supports and services provided by school Mental Health Professionals to support the social, emotional, behavioral, and mental well-being of students. Designs and coordinates onsite visits to LEAs, prioritizing those participating in the grant, and collaborates with the Division Director on student well-being strategies to attend to individualized social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health student needs. Collaborates with LASSWx co-Principal Investigator (PI) of services and training to identify and train school Mental Health Professionals, teachers, administrators, and other school staff for each high-need school. Manages all related grant contracts and contractors, and all support staff assigned to the grant to ensure the grant occurs on schedule, according to grant objectives and within budget. Performs all other duties and/or special projects as assigned by the Division Director and/or Assistant Superintendent and as deemed necessary to support Office goals and objectives. Preferred Qualifications : Candidates with experience supporting the social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of students through implementation of programs, training and appropriate evidence-based interventions; experience developing, evaluating and supporting strategies to improve large-scale systems, strong and effective collaboration skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and have strong project management experience and excellent communication skills; as well as possess one of the following certificates/licenses: MSW, LCSW/PhD/DSW, and QSSW are encouraged to apply. ** Note regarding the advertised pay range : The Education Program Consultant series has an established special entrance rate (SER) that is set above the minimum of the pay range and the advertised minimum. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
