Responsibilities
- Adhere to both general and specific industry guidelines and best practices.
- Apply general and client-specific CAD Standards to all drawings.
- Utilize CAD software knowledge to complete drawings efficiently.
- Translate engineer's sketches or other documentation into finished designs.
- Ensure accuracy in drafting components by visually comparing with datasheets.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews following company procedures.
- Discuss questions or concerns with engineers or project managers and make necessary revisions.
- Complete assigned duties and tasks as required.
- Collaborate effectively within the design team and management.
- Adhere to budget and schedule constraints for all work.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
- Adhere to office policies and procedures.
- Report any problems affecting customer requirements to the supervisor.
- Efficiently utilize Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and AutoCAD.
- Continuously enhance technical and professional abilities necessary for assigned tasks.
Experience And Skills Required
- Advanced expertise in Electrical concepts, including UL508, NFPA, etc.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD & AutoCAD Electrical, with experience in Lisp and Visual Basic.
- Advanced familiarity with the Windows 10 operating system.
- Effective utilization of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, etc.
- Solid communication skills to collaborate with the engineering team and other designers via phone, email, etc.
- Capability to adapt to multiple CAD Standards.
- Attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance from project engineers.
- Preferably an AAS degree in Computer Aided Drafting/Design or equivalent.
- Experience in drafting/designing Electrical concepts and terminology, such as Ladder, Loop, and PID diagrams.
- Over 10 years of experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Over 10 years of drafting experience in the electrical field.
- Proficient in written, verbal, mathematical, and interpersonal communication.
