Siemens Mobility Customer Service is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Sacramento, CA!

This engineering position with Siemens Customer Service Group provides the opportunity to participate in the development of solutions for a variety of issues, including obsolescence, software optimization, and product improvement, to support our Rolling Stock customers through the life of their vehicles.

In conjunction with Product Management colleagues, capture engineering project requirements, including modifications and upgrades, as a result of either specific enquiries or pro-active product improvement opportunities.

Perform material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up. Lead semi-complex design, development, testing and modifications of solutions. Participates in preparing explanations and clarifies information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data. Participates in communicating technical and commercial issues. Participates in recommending new designs, new processes, or design changes to meet requirements.

What your day may look like:
 

• Interpret electrical diagram and perform circuit troubleshooting
• Develop test concepts and technical functional description for test equipment and systems
• Develop equipment or system level design documentations
• Work closely with electrical engineering team to develop project software which fulfills the project requirements
• Develop software documentation and user manuals
• Provide software expertise during system design process with different engineering teams (mechanical, electrical and industrial)
• Develop and manage software release processes and revision control
• Monitor industry practices to identify applicable standards and products to improve technical solutions and reliability
• Review project requirements and develop software concept/framework
• Support in the technical bid of maintenance and overhaul projects
   

What will make you successful in this role:
 

• BS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or related discipline, or advanced degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience in the rail industry.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in electrical engineering or related field.
• C / C++ / Python scripting experience
• LabView knowledge / experience
