Description:
A growing technical defense team is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Electrical Engineer or Physicist to join their survivability modeling and simulation group focused on microelectronics under radiation environments. This role offers hands-on experience, close mentorship, and excellent technical development opportunities. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers to support design, simulation, and evaluation of microelectronic systems subjected to radiation. The focus is on modeling radiation effects and ensuring system survivability in challenging defense-related environments.
Assist in modeling and simulating microelectronic components exposed to radiation.
Support the design, development, and review of engineering technical solutions.
Help develop engineering specifications, system documentation, and technical reports.
Participate in analysis and design reviews, prepare required inputs and documentation.
Track and manage project data, specifications, and progress using collaborative tools.
Engage in technical meetings and design discussions with stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to engineering documentation and testing standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to collaborate across disciplines in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in an organized manner.
Interest or foundational knowledge in microelectronics and radiation effects.
Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for a security clearance (Secret Clearance).
Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens EDA.
Familiarity with SPICE modeling and radiation-aware simulations.
Understanding of Monte Carlo simulation and statistical analysis methods.
Experience with programming languages/tools like Python, MATLAB, C, Verilog, or PEARL.
Basic knowledge of analog/digital circuit design, ASICs, or PCB design.
Understanding of BSIM models and Process Design Kits (PDKs).
Hands-on experience with simulation and modeling tools for performance evaluation.
U.S. citizenship and a clean record are mandatory due to security clearance requirements.
