Description:
Actalent is seeking a hands-on, energetic Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design, analysis, and integration of electrical systems for rugged, safety-critical aerospace products. This role involves schematic capture, parts selection, hardware verification testing, and troubleshooting electrical assemblies to ensure high reliability and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design aerospace products, including embedded microcontrollers, sensors, data acquisition interfaces, and monitoring circuitry.
Develop hardware architecture and design from customer requirements to determine system and hardware needs.
Select components, perform derating, and design for high-reliability, severe environments.
Conduct reliability analysis and coordinate testing.
Satisfy built-in-test and fault monitoring requirements for control systems and embedded applications.
Develop operational, maintenance, and testing procedures for electronic products and systems.
Create and use test software and custom test equipment for design verification and manufacturing qualification.
Prepare, review, and maintain design documentation, operational reports, and maintenance schedules.
Troubleshoot electrical device problems for efficient resolution.
Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
Produce cost-effective products according to specifications.
Essential Skills:
MS or BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of circuit design experience for embedded systems.
Ability to independently evaluate and apply engineering techniques and procedures.
Experience working in highly regulated environments (FAA).
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, time management, and project management skills.
Ability to create technical proposals and present ideas.
Highly motivated, self-directed, and capable of working autonomously.
Eligibility as a “U.S. Person” per ITAR 22 CFR 120-130.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Familiarity with signal integrity and hazardous material selection.
Experience with brushless DC motors, circuit simulation, power supply design, DC-DC power, and Altium.
Microcontroller experience.
Aviation FAA certification (DO178) is a plus.
Work Environment:
Fully on-site at Eden Prairie, MN.
Primarily focused on design, schematic creation, and electronics troubleshooting.
Pay and Benefits:
$40–$60 per hour
