Description:

Acushnet Company, the name behind world-renowned golf brands like Titleist, is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Mechanical Specialist (Apprentice I) to join its golf ball manufacturing team at Ball Plant 2 in Dartmouth, MA. This full-time, third-shift position offers a hands-on opportunity to work with advanced electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems in a world-class production environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing complex manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You’ll troubleshoot and rebuild electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with precision, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and collaborate with engineering teams to design and adapt equipment to meet evolving production needs. The role demands attention to detail, safety consciousness, and a strong mechanical and electrical background.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure consistent production quality and minimize downtime.

  • Calibrate, rebuild, and test electromechanical devices to meet performance and reliability standards.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical/hydraulic schematics, and engineering drawings for repair and installation purposes.

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and adapt machinery and systems for improved production efficiency.

  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments effectively and safely.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, plan work schedules efficiently, and ensure compliance with all safety protocols.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through proactive communication and teamwork.

  • Adhere strictly to safety standards including Lockout/Tagout and NFPA 70E compliance.

  • Ensure operational excellence by following established quality, environmental, and organizational guidelines.


Qualifications and Requirements:

Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience combinations:

  • Completion of TPC curriculum with 3+ years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial environment, or

  • An approved technical associate degree or certificate in an electrical/electronic discipline with 3+ years of experience, or

  • A minimum of 7 years of industrial electrical experience in a skilled trade (without formal post-secondary education), with a commitment to completing TPC training for skill gaps.

Additional requirements include:

  • Formal training in AC/DC circuits and basic PLC functionality.

  • Knowledge of instrumentation, controls, and mechanical systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for industrial machinery and automation systems.

  • Working knowledge of safety practices, electrical codes, and industrial standards.

  • Must provide personal trade tools and demonstrate excellent reliability and work ethic.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Proficient in English, basic mathematics, and computer literacy.

  • Must pass all required health and safety testing.
