Description:
Electronic Trading Support Engineers are integral to ensuring uninterrupted and efficient trading operations in fast-paced, high-performance environments. As frontline responders to technical issues, these professionals are responsible for the reliability, stability, and real-time functionality of trading platforms. Their scope of work spans infrastructure support, compliance monitoring, and managing risk-related system performance.
This dynamic role demands technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The engineer will work closely with trading desks, infrastructure teams, and exchanges to deliver stable and compliant trading environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Real-Time Monitoring: Actively monitor live trading operations during market hours to ensure system uptime and stability.
Order Management: Troubleshoot and manage order flow processes for trading desks, ensuring accurate and efficient execution.
Incident Response: Address market alerts, exchange notifications, outages, and system-related disruptions with urgency and precision.
System Optimization: Maintain and fine-tune trading infrastructure to enhance performance and minimize latency.
Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a knowledgeable resource on trading platform architecture, compliance protocols, and risk management frameworks.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
Strong proficiency with UNIX/Linux systems and command-line tools.
Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or a similar language for automation and debugging.
Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to function effectively under high-stress, time-sensitive conditions typical in trading environments.
Solid understanding of market data feeds, protocols, and order entry systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in the financial services or electronic trading industry.
Relevant certifications such as Series 7, Series 57, or comparable.
Familiarity with electronic trading systems, FIX protocol, and market microstructure.
