Embedded Software Engineer

Description:

Cenergy International Services, on behalf of its client in the Fluid Systems Division (FSD), is hiring a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and certify embedded software solutions for aerospace and industrial applications. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Hauppauge, NY, requiring deep expertise in embedded systems and regulated environments. The selected candidate will play a vital role in engineering fuel measurement, management, and inerting systems for commercial and defense airframers.

The ideal candidate must possess hands-on experience in C programming, model-based design (SCADE), embedded systems integration, and must have worked in compliance with regulatory standards such as DO-178, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and verify embedded software using C or model-based tools (e.g., SCADE).

• Develop high-level and low-level software requirements and test cases for verification.

• Conduct software integration testing on target hardware with both simulated and real I/O.

• Ensure compliance with software development standards, including thorough requirement traceability and documentation.

• Analyze code and design artifacts for design assurance and participate in certification audits (e.g., SOI).

• Work closely with Systems and Hardware Engineering teams to ensure product reliability and certification.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in software development, integration, and verification for embedded systems.

• Demonstrated experience in regulated environments (e.g., aerospace or industrial safety-critical systems).

• Strong problem-solving skills, with solid analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities.

Highly Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in C programming and SCADE for model-based development.

• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.

• Hands-on use of DOORS or DOORS Next Gen for managing requirements.

• Familiarity with ARM microprocessors, CANbus, ARINC, RS-232, or other serial communication protocols.

• Expertise in digital signal processing, filter design, and functional safety standards like ISO 26262, DO-178C, DO-330, DO-331, or ARP4761.

• Experience in embedded software control systems for aerospace-grade products.
