Terabase Energy, a leading innovator in digitalization and automation for large-scale solar projects, is hiring an Engineer to design, implement, and optimize industrial networks and control systems for solar, battery storage, and hybrid renewable energy plants. The Engineer will develop and integrate plant control systems to meet operational and regulatory needs, focusing on achieving operational excellence, reliability, and uptime.

Engage with clients including developers, utilities, EPCs, and grid operators to capture and implement system requirements.
Design and develop monitoring and control systems for utility-scale renewable projects.
Program, install, test, troubleshoot, and commission Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
Develop logic for power curtailment, reactive power control, met tower data acquisition, high voltage substation SCADA, and plant control systems for solar and energy storage.
Work with technologies including SEL-RTACs, ControlLogix, Ignition (HMI and historian), MSSQL, InfluxDB, Cisco networking, and diagnostic tools such as Putty and Wireshark.
Produce design documentation (system architecture, logic diagrams, HMI mockups), project commissioning documents, as-built drawings, operator manuals, and training materials.
Coordinate with field technicians during commissioning and installation.
Utilize diagnostic utilities to troubleshoot complex control systems.
Participate in continuous improvement programs aimed at zero-failure operation and maximizing uptime.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or related field (preferably controls engineering).
Minimum 2 years of IEC 61131-3 PLC programming experience including structured text and function blocks.
Minimum 2 years experience with SCADA development; experience with Ignition platform preferred.
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols: Modbus-TCP, DNP3, OPC-UA, IEC 61850, ICCP.
Programming skills; Python knowledge is a plus.
Experience setting up virtual machines on physical servers.
Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients.
Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Experience with continuous improvement or lessons learned initiatives.
Authorized to work permanently in the United States.
Willingness to travel 20-30%.
