(NYSE: BWXT), a Fortune 1000 and Defense News Top 100 manufacturing and engineering leader, is seeking an Engineer 1 – Downblending Process Engineer to join its Nuclear Fuel Services (NFS) division in Erwin, Tennessee. BWXT specializes in delivering innovative and safe nuclear solutions for global security, clean energy, environmental restoration, nuclear medicine, and space exploration. With over 7,800 employees across 14 major sites in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., BWXT is the exclusive manufacturer of naval nuclear reactors for U.S. submarines and aircraft carriers.

In this role, you will undertake routine engineering assignments that involve applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria under the guidance of a manager or senior engineer. This position is designed to develop your professional engineering knowledge, technical expertise, and hands-on experience in nuclear fuel services, particularly in downblending process engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate situations, select and apply standard engineering methods, and make minor modifications as necessary.

• Plan and investigate assignments with defined objectives and limited complexity.

• Prepare technical reports, drawings, sketches, change requests, technical bases, and equivalency documents.

• Design and conduct tests or experiments, analyze and correlate data, and organize and plan work efficiently.

• Interpret technical specifications and participate in meetings with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

• Provide time and cost estimates for engineering activities.

• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, company policies, and quality control procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any discipline).

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information effectively.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

• U.S. citizenship required (no dual citizenship permitted).

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance, including extensive background checks, drug screening, and reference verifications.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive base salary: $5,333 – $8,416 per month.
