The AI for Security Operations Engineering Intern will collaborate with a team of cybersecurity and AI experts to design and enhance AI-driven operational solutions, contributing to the development of secure and efficient cloud systems that serve over 8,100 global customers, including 85% of the Fortune 500®.
This position provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in security engineering, automation, and artificial intelligence within a collaborative, innovative, and fast-paced environment. The intern will help strengthen ServiceNow’s position as the most trusted SaaS provider by integrating AI into security operations and workflow automation.
Support the Platform Security Innovation Team in developing AIOps capabilities and conducting system health checks.
Assist in security incident handling, customer communication, and escalation management.
Contribute to the initialization and follow-up of penetration testing, patching programs, and acceptable use policy violations.
Coordinate with internal security teams to streamline the workflow and triage of security-related incidents.
Develop AIOps pipelines for collecting, processing, and analyzing data from various IT systems (logs, metrics, traces, and events).
Implement AI/ML solutions to automate incident management and remediation processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify operational inefficiencies and propose AI-driven improvements.
Provide support for the Clone Library, security-related problem records (PRBs), and training initiatives.
Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field at an accredited university.
Expected graduation: December 2026 or later (Spring/Summer 2027 preferred).
1–6 years of related experience in data science, security engineering, or automation.
Demonstrated understanding of AI integration in workflows, data analysis, or automation processes.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and their associated ML services.
Familiarity with MLOps tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Weights & Biases).
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies.
Understanding of relational databases like MySQL or Oracle.
Experience with AI productivity tools such as Cursor or Windsurf.
Knowledge of the ServiceNow platform is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset with a focus on innovation.
Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality and timeliness.
Base Pay: USD 50.02 per hour
